Terms of Service
Both commission & customs TOS are listed here. Commission TOS is listed below the first yellow line, and Adopt & Custom Design TOS is listed below the second yellow line.
COMMISSION TOS
By commissioning art from me, you accept and agree with the following terms and conditions.
GENERAL
- I have the right to decline your commission; I am not obligated to explicitly state the reason for refusal.
- I do not accept rushed commissions. If you have a deadline, please discuss this with me beforehand where a rush fee may be applied.
- Rude behavior is not tolerated, and your commission will be canceled if this occurs.
- Your canvas will be 300dpi and of a variable size depending on the commission. If you want a specific canvas size, let me know when placing your order.
- Commissions will be sent as png files via email.
- Accepted commissions does not mean endorsement of the commissioner or anyone associated with them.
PAYMENT & REFUNDS
- Payment is due upfront. If there is a waitlist, you don’t pay until I’m ready to start your commission. However, for commissions over $150, partial payment can be discussed.
- I only accept payment through Paypal Invoices.
- Full refunds will only be issued before I start on your commission or if I am unable to complete it.
- Once the WIP process begins, only a 50% refund can be requested.
EDITS
- I will NOT edit a completed image if I am provided an outdated/inaccurate reference.
- I only allow 3 free revisions during the sketching/approval stage. Any additional revisions afterward will be +$5 per revision.
DEADLINES & DELIVERY
- Commissions will have a turnaround time of between 2 weeks to 3 months, with smaller pieces being completed generally faster than larger/complex ones, unless stated otherwise. (I am not a full time artist, so I will be completing commissions at my own pace.)
- If there are any delays on my end, you will be notified as soon as possible.
- For sketch commissions, the approval stage will be a rough sketch WIP.
- For non-sketch commissions, the approval stage will be a sketch WIP of the commission with colors roughly blocked in.
OWNERSHIP, & USE
- Commissions are for personal use only. (You can use your commission as a profile picture/banner on social media, you can print it out for personal display, and you may use the commission to promote yourself without selling the artwork itself.)
- You are allowed to repost the commissioned artwork on your own accounts, provided that the image is the watermarked version as well as credited to me.
- Altering, reprinting, and/or reselling of the commissioned artwork is not allowed.
- I do not allow my work to be used for AI purposes or NFTs.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
- I retain the right to use commissioned artwork in my portfolios and social medias, where it will be made clear that it was a commission by the commissioner, whether they would like to be named or remain anonymous.
- Aside from myself, only the commissioner is allowed to use the illustration, unless specifically allowed by the commissioner.
ADOPT & CUSTOM DESIGN TOS
By buying any adopt or custom design from me, you accept and agree with the following terms and conditions.
GENERAL:
- Please don't remove my credit, whether it's the toyhouse credit or my own artist watermark. If you repost my art elsewhere, please credit me via mentioning Schellis or Dragon_Schellis (any of my social media accounts), or a link to this Carrd or my Site.
- Please let me know if you plan to delete a character I designed off ToyHouse. I'm not going to stop you, I just want to know so I can keep track of all my designs.

- The client is free to add to the character design, but you may NOT alter my artwork drastically (hue changes & small edits are fine). However, if the design becomes significantly different, please use your own art or someone else's artwork that you get permission to use.
- I do not allow my work to be used for AI purposes or NFTs.
- When design ownership is transferred from me to you, I have the right to show the design in my portfolio, galleries, or to advertise/market my work.
- Most importantly & in general: Please be fair to anyone you're trading and/or selling with. That is, don't sell my design for a lot more than you got it for.
ADOPTABLE PROCESS
- Adoptables can be claimed by either replying to the post of where you find one of my designs or by directly messaging me on the website it's being hosted on.
- Adopts are claimed on a first come first served basis, so I will try my best to respond to everyone who is interested and make sure everyone knows about the current status of the adopt.
- If the adopt is available, I'll confirm by responding to you and we can discuss payment information privately.
- If you are on Toyhouse, the profile & all images within will be transferred to you. If not on Toyhouse, the full resolution png will be emailed to you.
CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS
- The customs process will work similarly to my commissions process, where you give me some kind of reference to create a character from. Reference material includes moodboards, simple text descriptions, an aesthetic, etc. The following design that you get will be up to my discretion.
- You, as the client, will not be able to point me towards a very specific spot that you want your design to end up. At most, I can try to go in the direction you'd like the design to be, but I will not be able to do every small detail you have envisioned. If this is the case, you can get a more specific description of the character as a whole and commission me instead of buying a custom.
- You will be sent one sketch to look over before the process continues in order to decide if you like the direction I'm going in, or if you want to try something else. Any rejected designs by the client will be kept by myself, the artist.
- Turnaround time will be between 2 weeks to 3 months unless stated otherwise. (I am not a full time artist, so I will be completing designs at my own pace.) I will provide any updates about delays if they come up.
- If you have a deadline in mind, please let me know so I can both plan for it and determine if there will be an additional rush fee. If I cannot complete your custom within the deadline, I will not accept your order.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
- I retain the right to use artwork of your custom character design in my portfolios and social medias, regardless of how many hands the character has been sold to / bought from. If you specifically don't want to see your character on social media anywhere, please let me know.
- The Client may display the custom online as long as I, Schellis am properly credited.

CUSTOMS:

ONE CHARACTER
Customs are Custom Character Designs. You give me a moodboard, images, a general idea or concept, a simple text description, an aesthetic, etc. and I create a character design for you.
- By ordering a custom, you understand that the design you'll be getting will be under my discretion and artistic liberties.
- You will be sent 2-3 concept sketches to look over before the process continues in order to decide if you like the direction I'm going in, or if you want to try something else. Any rejected designs by the client will be kept by myself, the artist.Unless you ask me otherwise, the resulting custom will have medium-high level of detail.(If you're looking for a simple design or incredibly complex, please reach out to me as prices can be outside of the listed ones.)

BACKGROUND:
Added to base price.
- Transparent/Flat Color backgrounds are free and are always available.
- Other types of added backgrounds are priced as above.
ADDED FEES:
- There may be added fees based on complexity, amount of heavy detail, additional props/effects, etc.> Additional Characters:
- Added fee depending on the complexity of the added character. (Most likely between 60% - 100% extra of the base price)
REFERENCE:
Please give me a visual reference of some kind for your commission. For customs, you can give me descriptions, moodboards, or collections of images. Pose references are especially helpful (but not required) if you have an idea of what you want, even if it's just stick figures.If there is a significant amount of detail / design that I have to use artistic liberties with, there will be an added fee that varies with the amount of extra work I have to put in.
GENERAL INFORMATION / RULES:
- Prices are listed in USD
- Payment through Paypal Invoices only (For large commissions over $150, partial payment can be discussed.
- Overall, more details = more cost.
- I will not draw NSFW, fetish, hateful content, heavy gore, or complex mecha.
- I can do suggestive content, but explicit genitalia / porn counts as NSFW. I will not draw suggestive content for clients under 18.
- I have the right to deny a commission; I am not obligated to explicitly state the reason for refusal.
